there's some crazy inertia thing that happens from being in action. i enjoyed it today, juggling scheduling, gardening, SELP coaching, and biking all the way across town to FINALLY (its been nearly a year) deal w/my decrepit glasses. amazingly, the dude in at the glasses shop was some kinda hero saint and told me quietly that the previous pair they'd made for me, the ones that mysteriously give me headaches....well, he would break them so that he could give me new ones under warranty. FOR FREE. that sure feels good on the ole' shoestring budget! i guess the point of just doing stuff i stead of procrastinating is then you get to do more, different, cooler stuff. or at least that lingering yucky feeling of stuckness is temporarily wiped away.
Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (that beautiful chunk of land bordering lake superior that's connected to the mitten via the Mackinaw Bridge), i escaped to the east coast as early as possible. After 6 years of uppity schooling, i spent a year in New York City and a year travelling the States before settling down at Twin Oaks Community, an intentional, income sharing community of 90 people on 450 acres in central virginia. at the same time i joined a nascent klezmer band, the vulgar bulgars and spent the next 3 living the bucolic life of a farming klezmorim.
